Ryan Kuehner, PhD

Dr. Kuehner earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. For the past 22 years, career foci comprised administering psychological assessments, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at local colleges, serving as an academic chair, publishing research, and providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy.


Clinical practice centers on working with adolescents and adults on a wide variety of topics and diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, interpersonal effectiveness, trauma, maladaptive personality features, familial discord, adjusting to separation and divorce, parenting strategies, coping skills, stress-related physical ailments, bereavement, and coordination of medical care with psychiatry/primary care. His treatment involves adapting to client’s unique strengths and struggles, with an overarching focus on identification of (often subconscious) learned patterns of thinking and behaving, and their effect upon present relationships. ​Dr. Kuehner is also involved in mentoring leaders as part of Truman's corporate wellness initiative.


Outside of private practice, Dr. Kuehner is grateful to serve as President/Board Chair of Immigreat Lancaster, LLC, a non-profit providing workplace support for refugees, asylees, and immigrants in Lancaster County, PA (immigreatlancaster.com). He also co-founded Lancaster Ketamine Institute, Lancaster's first outpatient clinic solely devoted to IV Ketamine Infusion in the care of those suffering from treatment-resistant PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder (lancasterketamineinstitute.com). 


​​​​​Research interest lies with neuropsychological assessment and genomics in the Old Order Amish. Partnering with the Amish Research Clinic in Lancaster, Dr. Kuehner has enjoyed serving as a Research Consultant with: University of Maryland School of Medicine Psychiatric Research Center; Columbia University Precision Medicine Initiative; and Oryzon Genomics.


Current research project: “Multi-scale consequences of variants in the schizophrenia risk gene SETD1A in a population isolate.”
